We are closing effective May 1st, 2026

We are writing to share some bittersweet news. Effective May 1, 2026, Breezy Acres Dog Boarding will no longer be offering dog boarding or daycare services.

This was an extremely difficult decision, but it allows us to focus more deeply on family time.  

As our family’s needs and schedules have evolved, we’ve found it increasingly difficult to balance the constant demands of boarding with our personal commitments. While we love the energy and joy that client dogs bring to our home, we’ve reached a point where we can no longer provide the 24/7 attention that dog boarding requires while also giving our family the time we need together.

What this means for you:

Dog Boarding

While you’re off enjoying your vacation, your dog will be well taken care of. We send picture updates near daily right to your cell phone!

$40/night + tax

Facility Amenities

  • Owners live on site
  • Located on a gravel road for privacy
  • Only 10 kennels in our facility – your dog and only a few others are our top priority!
  • Climate controlled: toasty heat in the winter, AC cool in summer!
  • 4’x6′ or 6’x7′ kennel suites in the main room
    • Visual barrier between dogs to minimize stress
    • Fully enclosed kennels to keep your pup safe!
    • HDPE & tile kennel interior for easy sanitizing
    • Elevated cot + our cozy blankets (or yours!) to feel like home
    • 8 – 4’x6′ suites, 1 – 6’x7′ suite, 1 – 5’x5′ “Cozy Cot” suite (see below)
  • Indoor play area – climate controlled for year round fun!
  • Outdoor play area with 6ft tall perimeter fence, with turf to keep your dog’s paws clean!
  • The “Cozy Cot” – A special 5’x5′ suite for dogs who need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger room.
  • Tours are available (and encouraged!) by appointment only! We want you to have no worries about leaving your pup in our hands!

Meet the pack

Breezy Acres Dog Boarding was inspired by our late dog Scooter (on the right). He was a wonderful dog, but had some unique health issues that made him hard to board. In our experience, small facilities had the personal touch to make sure he followed his complicated feeding regimen, but they usually didn’t have great play areas. Scooter loved playing with his pals, so it was important to us to save space for a large indoor play area – heated and cooled for all year round fun!

Annie has a bachelor’s degree in animal science, and has been around animals her whole life. She has many volunteer hours at the Mower County Humane Society in Austin, MN, and has worked at other dog boarding facilities. Her passion for understanding dog behavior is key in making sure your dog is having fun, and in keeping play groups safe.

Jarek enjoys hiking and building things – he built this whole dog kennel with only a little help! He too has been around animals his whole life. He enjoys spending time with the family dog Ralphie (on the left), and visiting local state parks.

Our kennel is closed for pick/drop offs on Christmas and Thanksgiving – all dogs must stay at least 2 nights around these two holidays.

  • For example, the shortest stay for Christmas day (12/25) is check in 12/24, check out 12/26.
